Tuesday

I enjoyed seeing Hank's pictures from the air museum the other day. My uncle was an Air Force photographer in WWII, and stationed in New Guinea. He was able to bring a large collection of photographs home with him. I went through them and brought a bunch home to scan. I only got a portion of them scanned.

There were several photos of these cartoons. After I posted them online, someone sent me a copy of a Life Magazine article about the men who created these cartoons.

All the planes had nose art, most of which pictured nude girls.

There are lots of interesting pictures here. If anyone is interested in seeing them, click on the link at the top right hand column for my PBase gallery.

The airplane pictures are wonderful, Duene (once you get past the nudes). I never knew what that PBase link was. Thank you.

Didn't you post this for us before? Somehow, I think I've gone through it. It's pretty neat!

Wow, bet your uncle had some stories to tell being a photographer back then. Probably got shot at more than once too....
